Limiting Beliefs for People Mid-Awakening

The mid-awakening stage — the period when something has clearly shifted, when the old frameworks no longer fit, when the world looks different but the new world hasn’t fully arrived — tends to produce a specific flavour of paralysis.

Not ordinary indecision. Something more fundamental: the sense of being between two selves, and the beliefs that form in that in-between space.

The Threshold Beliefs

“I can’t build anything until the awakening is complete.”

The waiting belief — the sense that action belongs on the other side of the threshold, and that building during the crossing would be premature or misaligned. That there’s a clearer, more integrated version of yourself waiting at the end of this process, and that version is the one who should be building.

The problem with this belief is that the awakening is never complete in the way the belief implies. Integration is ongoing. There is no finished version waiting on the other side. The choice is between building during the process or not building at all — and waiting tends to produce not readiness, but more waiting.

“The people from my old life won’t understand what I’m becoming.”

The relational belief — the sense that awakening creates a gap between you and the relationships that existed before it. That the people who knew you before won’t be able to follow you through this, and that building something new means losing the community you had.

Sometimes this belief is accurate. Sometimes relationships do shift significantly during awakening. But the belief often runs ahead of the evidence — anticipating loss that hasn’t yet happened, and pre-emptively withdrawing to protect against it.

“I need to understand my new direction completely before I commit to it.”

The clarity belief — the sense that awakening should eventually produce a clear, stable, legible direction, and that acting before that clarity arrives is acting prematurely.

Clarity in this sense rarely arrives as a complete package before action. It tends to arrive progressively, through action — one step revealing the next. The belief that full clarity must precede commitment tends to produce inaction, which produces less information, which delays clarity.

“What’s emerging in me is too unconventional to build a practice around.”

The viability belief — the sense that the new direction, the new identity, the new way of understanding the world is too unusual to find an audience. That awakening has taken you somewhere so specific, so unusual, or so far from the mainstream that no one will be able to follow you there professionally.

The people who are beginning to awaken — who are in the early stages of what you’ve been through — are precisely the people who need someone who has made the crossing and can describe the territory. The unconventionality isn’t the obstacle. It’s often the offering.

What the In-Between Space Actually Offers

The mid-awakening stage, despite the discomfort, offers something rare: genuine perspective on what came before, and genuine openness to what’s coming. The person who is mid-awakening hasn’t yet hardened into new certainties. They’re in a genuinely open, genuinely searching state — which tends to produce work that is unusually honest and unusually resonant.

The beliefs that form in this space often protect the in-between by treating it as insufficient. But the in-between is not a deficiency. It’s a specific kind of resource.

Where to Begin

The most productive belief to examine first for this archetype is the waiting one — because it keeps all the downstream beliefs defended. As long as action is held hostage to a completeness that never arrives, no other shift is possible.

The identity-level approach is directly useful: who are you right now, mid-crossing? What does this specific version of you — the one between worlds — have to offer that the fully-arrived version won’t have? That reframe tends to dissolve the waiting belief more effectively than questioning it logically.

And the relational dimension — the fear of being left behind by the old community while the new one hasn’t formed yet — is addressed directly in the Abundance GPS community, which tends to attract people who are precisely in this territory.

The Invitation

The Abundance GPS community is full of people who are mid-crossing — who are between the world they came from and the world they’re building. That’s not a niche demographic. It’s most of the membership.
