How to Apply the GPS+I Framework to Worthiness and Self-Worth
The GPS+I Framework — Goal, Problem, Solutions, Integration — provides a structured four-phase approach to working through any professional or identity-level block. Applied to worthiness and self-worth, it offers a monthly rhythm that moves from intention through diagnosis to active practice and consolidation.
Week One: Goal
In the first week, the work is to name the specific professional claiming goal clearly enough to be measurable.
Not “feel more worthy.” Not “charge what I’m worth.” Something specific: “Quote $[rate] as my standard rate in every new client conversation this month.” Or: “Post three pieces of content this month that claim my professional position directly, without qualification.”
The goal needs to be behavioral and observable. If you can’t verify at the end of the month whether you achieved it, it’s not specific enough.
Worthiness note: The process of naming the goal often surfaces the worthiness limitation directly. The resistance to stating a specific number is itself data about where the nervous system’s permission level sits. Notice what rate felt like “too much” to write down, and set the goal just above that threshold.
Week Two: Problem
In the second week, the work is to identify the specific block that is preventing the goal from already being achieved.
For worthiness and self-worth, this is usually one or more of:
- The nervous system’s prediction about what claiming at the goal level will cost (relational rupture, judgment, loss of belonging)
- The justification structure that makes the block invisible (values language, timing conditions, professional preparation requirements)
- The specific relational context the prediction was calibrated to (family dynamics, early professional environments, cultural messages about who prospers)
The goal of this week is not to solve the block — it’s to name it with enough specificity that the Solutions week can address it directly.
Worthiness note: Write the prediction explicitly: “When I charge [goal rate], I predict [specific outcome].” The specificity makes the prediction testable.
Week Three: Solutions
In the third week, the work is to apply the practice that addresses the specific block named in week two.
For a prediction-based block: the prediction tracking and evidence accumulation practice. Make the claiming action. Log the prediction and the actual outcome.
For a justification-based block: the distinguishing practice. Write out every justification that arose for not achieving the goal this week. For each one, ask: “Is this tracking a genuine professional reality, or is it the worthiness deficit running interference?” Note which is which.
For a relational-calibration need: the community practice. Claim the goal rate or position in the community context — not just in client conversations, but in peer conversation. Experience the claiming being received normally.
Week Four: Integration
In the fourth week, the work is to consolidate what the previous three weeks produced.
Review the evidence log from week three. Note the ratio of predictions that came true versus predictions that didn’t. Identify one thing that’s clearer about the worthiness block than it was at the start of the month.
Revise the goal for next month: is the threshold set appropriately? Should it be higher based on this month’s evidence? What specific block needs addressing in the next cycle?
Worthiness note: Integration means the new evidence is being incorporated into the nervous system’s baseline predictions. This happens gradually over multiple GPS+I cycles. Each cycle leaves the prediction slightly more accurate to current-environment reality.
Running Multiple Cycles
A single GPS+I cycle produces evidence and some shift. Meaningful worthiness recalibration typically requires six to twelve cycles — six to twelve months of consistent monthly practice with increasing specificity of goals and increasing evidence accumulation.
