7 Ways to Work With Magnetic Marketing Energy-Based Without Forcing It
The first seven ways to work with magnetic presence without forcing cover the most immediate dimensions — how to work with resistance in the creating and sharing process. These seven address the relational and structural dimensions where force is applied more slowly and with less awareness.
1. Let the relationship develop at its natural pace. The practitioner who forces a potential client relationship toward a decision before it’s ready is applying the same kind of force to relationships that others apply to content. Magnetic presence in relationships requires the same quality that it requires in content: genuine attunement to where things actually are, rather than urgency pushing them toward where the practitioner needs them to be. The first seven ways to work with magnetic presence without forcing include working with resistance in the moment. This one is about working with relational timing over the longer arc.
2. Allow your showing up to evolve without forcing a direction. The practitioner who has decided what their magnetic showing up should look like and is forcing it into that shape is often constraining something more alive and genuine from emerging. The evolution of magnetic presence has its own direction. Working with it means noticing what is genuinely developing — what themes keep emerging, what kinds of content produce real aliveness, what forms feel natural — and following that, rather than forcing the showing up into a preconceived structure.
3. Build the library of already-magnetic material. One non-forced approach to expanding magnetic reach is ensuring that the showing up that has already produced genuine recognition continues to circulate — is findable, is referenced, is linked to in new content. The deeper principle behind non-forced magnetic work includes recognizing that magnetic material has a longer life than any single publication event. Working with that material — giving it ongoing life — is non-forced magnetic leverage.
4. Address the somatic dimension of showing up. Somatic approaches to non-forced magnetic practice address something that purely strategic approaches to non-forced showing up miss: the body’s state when creating and sharing matters to the quality of what’s produced. The practitioner who is creating from a state of contraction — whose nervous system is activated by the anticipation of visibility — is applying an internal form of force that shapes the content in ways that reduce its magnetic quality. Working with the somatic dimension is a non-forced approach to improving the quality of what gets produced.
5. Work with the structural constraints rather than against them. The practitioner who is forcing their showing up often does so because the current structural setup makes genuine showing up difficult — they’re trying to show up in forms that don’t suit them, on platforms that don’t match their natural communication style, at frequencies that require sustained push. The complete picture of non-forced magnetic practice involves examining whether the current structure is aligned with how the practitioner most naturally expresses, and adjusting the structure rather than forcing expression into it.
6. Distinguish between strategic rest and avoidance. The practitioner who takes space from showing up without judgment — who can recognize when they need genuine rest and can take it without spiraling into shame or guilt — is practicing a non-forced relationship with the rhythm of showing up. Showing up has a rhythm. Forcing against the need for rest produces activated, depleted showing up. Resting with clarity about when to return produces refreshed genuine showing up.
7. Trust the clients who find you to find you. When not forcing is actually wisdom, not avoidance addresses the most important non-forced orientation: trusting that the practitioner who is showing up genuinely and consistently, who is building depth and real presence, doesn’t need to chase. The clients who are genuinely well-matched tend to find their way to practitioners who are genuinely showing up. The forcing usually comes from not trusting this — from believing that without the push, nothing will arrive. That distrust is itself a form of force applied to the showing up.
