5 Daily Practices for Shifting Your Selling Without Pushing
Shifting the selling without pushing pattern doesn’t happen through occasional breakthroughs. Before you write a sales email, before a sales conversation, before you post content that makes an offer — pause for two minutes. Notice what your body is doing. What’s happening in your breath? Where is there tension? What’s the quality of your presence right now?
You’re not trying to change anything. You’re building the habit of noticing your internal state before the selling context, rather than only being aware of it afterward. Over time, this awareness creates the pause where different choices become possible.
2. A daily receiving practice.
Each day, let something in that was offered — a compliment, a moment of beauty, a kind word, someone’s genuine interest. Practice not deflecting. Not minimizing. Not immediately reciprocating. Just letting it land.

The daily repetition builds the familiarity that reduces the activation. By the time you’re in a larger selling conversation, you’ve already made seventeen offers this month. It’s not the unfamiliar territory it was.
4. A brief written reflection after any selling conversation.
Not a lengthy journal — three questions, five minutes. What did my body do during the conversation? Where was there more ease than I expected? Where was the old pattern most active? The reflection consolidates the experience so the nervous system can actually update from it, rather than having the conversation disappear into the general background.
5. A daily acknowledgment of your own worth that is not contingent on outcomes.
Not an affirmation. Something grounded. What did you offer today that was genuinely useful? What do you know because of your specific experience that not everyone knows? What has been valuable in your work, regardless of whether anyone is currently paying for it?
This practice works on the ground floor — the internal sense of okay-ness that the selling pattern is often protecting. Building that ground floor through acknowledgment of actual worth reduces the existential weight that selling conversations carry.
