A Visualisation Sequence for Magnetic Marketing Energy-Based
Most practitioners who work on their showing-up practice work on it cognitively — thinking about what to change, understanding the patterns, developing plans for showing up differently. This is valuable. It’s also, on its own, often insufficient.
The reason is that the state you’re trying to access — the grounded, service-oriented, genuinely present state that makes content resonate — is not primarily a cognitive state. It’s a felt one. You can know all about it and still not have access to it when you sit down to create. The analytical mind that understands it is not the same part of you that needs to shift.
Visualisation works by bypassing the analytical layer and accessing something more direct — the felt experience of a particular state before you need to demonstrate it.
State management as a practice includes this kind of preparation: using the imagination to pre-access the state you want to create from, rather than trying to produce aligned content while you’re not yet in an aligned state.
What the Sequence Is Designed to Do
The visualisation sequence described here is short — five to eight minutes — and is designed for use before any significant showing-up activity. Before a session of content creation, before recording, before sitting down to write something that matters.
Its purpose is not to achieve some perfectly peaceful inner state. It’s to access the felt sense of the version of you that creates from genuine care and genuine presence, so that version is what’s available when you begin.
The energetic layer of content responds to this kind of preparation. What you bring to the moment of creation shapes what emerges from it, and visualisation is one of the most efficient ways to shift what you bring.
The Sequence
Find a seated position that feels settled — not collapsed, not braced, just resting comfortably. Close your eyes if that’s comfortable for you. Take two or three breaths without changing them — just noticing them.
Part 1: The present moment check (60 seconds)
Bring awareness to where you are right now. Not where you need to be, not what needs to get done — just here. This chair. This room. This body. You don’t need to do anything with whatever you notice. Just acknowledge it: this is where I’m starting.
If there’s tension anywhere, notice it without trying to immediately change it. Acknowledgement is the first movement.
Part 2: The person on the other side (2 minutes)
Bring to mind one person — specific or vividly imagined — who is currently living through the problem your work addresses. Not a demographic. A felt sense of a person: what they’re carrying today, what they’ve already tried, what the experience feels like from inside it.
Let that person become real in your imagination. Not as an object to help — as a person whose experience you genuinely understand and care about. Notice what happens in your body as you hold this person in mind. That feeling, whatever it is, is relevant information about where your genuine care lives.
Part 3: The moment of real contact (2 minutes)
Imagine a moment of genuine contact with this person — not through a platform, not mediated by likes or algorithms, but the direct experience of your work reaching them. Maybe it’s a conversation. Maybe it’s reading something you wrote. The specific details matter less than the felt sense: what it’s like when what you’re doing actually lands for the person it was meant for.
Beginning with felt sense rather than strategy is what this part of the sequence is doing: accessing the embodied knowing that your work has genuine value, by imagining — concretely — the experience of that value being received.
Part 4: Creating from this place (60 seconds)
Still in the visualisation: see yourself beginning to create from exactly where you are now. Not from the anxious state you started with — from the felt sense of genuine service that you’ve been building over the last few minutes. See the first sentence arriving from that place. Notice what it’s like to create content from genuine care rather than from the need to perform or to manage a result.
Part 5: Return and begin
Open your eyes. Before doing anything else, take one more breath, and then begin creating from exactly where you’ve landed.
What to Expect in Practice
The first few times you use this sequence, it may feel awkward or unfamiliar. Visualisation as a pre-creation practice is not habitual for most practitioners. The analytical mind may want to skip it and get started with the actual work.
That pull is worth noting — it’s often the same part of you that defaults to cognitive effort over felt preparation. Accessing the body before creating and using visualisation share a common challenge: they require a willingness to slow down before you produce, which can feel counterintuitive when you’re already managing the anxiety of needing to show up.
Over time, the sequence becomes a reliable transition. The analytical mind begins to recognize it as the on-ramp to the working state — and the shift from anxious, contracted starting point to grounded, service-oriented creating happens more quickly.
A daily practice for shifting baseline state can include visualisation as one of its components — particularly for practitioners who have a strong imagination and respond well to imagery, the visualisation often works faster than movement-based approaches alone.
A Note on Expecting Perfect Access
The sequence is not designed to produce perfect inner peace before you create. Some days the visualisation will land fully — you’ll feel the shift, the state will be accessible, and what you create will reflect that. Other days it will help partially. On difficult days, even a few minutes of this kind of preparation is worth more than starting from the full contraction.
The point is not to gate your showing up behind achieving a perfect state. It’s to take the edge off the contracted starting point, enough that what you create is genuinely connected to the person you’re trying to reach.
