A Step-by-Step Practice for Magnetic Marketing Energy-Based

You’ve done the work. You’ve read about state management in marketing and understand why it matters. You’ve felt the difference between content created from genuine care and content created from a need to prove something.

And something still isn’t clicking — not in the understanding, but in the consistent doing. The concept makes sense. The daily practice hasn’t quite assembled itself yet.

It’s not a failure of commitment. It’s that most explanations of magnetic marketing are long on philosophy and short on steps. This is the steps.

The Foundation: Conviction as a Practice

The Conviction Sales Framework makes one foundational claim: if you genuinely believe that what you offer would improve someone’s life, and you don’t make every genuine effort to connect them with it, you’re withholding something they need.

This reframe matters enormously for conscious entrepreneurs, many of whom have conflated “not being pushy” with “not showing up.” The truth is more nuanced. Genuine conviction — the real, embodied kind, not performed enthusiasm — produces marketing that feels like service. Doubt, even unconscious doubt, produces marketing that feels like recruitment.

The conviction behind your content is the energetic foundation the steps below are designed to cultivate.

The Weekly Practice (Before Creating Anything)

Step 1: Conviction Audit — once per week, 15 minutes

Before the week of content creation begins, spend 15 minutes with a single question: On a scale of one to ten, how genuinely convinced am I that what I offer transforms the people I serve?

Not the theoretical version — the embodied, felt version. If you were talking to a close friend struggling with exactly the problem you help solve, how urgently would you tell them about your work?

Write the number down. Write what brought you to that number. If it’s below seven, don’t create content yet — do Steps 2 and 3 first.

Step 2: Evidence Review — when conviction is low

Collect and review evidence that your work produces real transformation. Client messages. Testimonials. A conversation you had where something shifted. A moment when your work intersected someone’s life in a way that changed direction.

This isn’t affirmation — it’s genuine evidence-gathering. How your inner state shapes content is directly tied to whether you’re creating from evidence or from hope. Get grounded in the evidence.

Step 3: Connect to the Person, Not the Platform

Before any platform is opened, connect briefly with the actual person you’re trying to reach. Not the demographic. The felt sense of the person — what they’re carrying right now, what has them awake at 2 AM, what they’ve already tried.

Write two or three sentences describing that person’s current inner experience. Not what they want to achieve. What they’re living through right now, today.

This shifts the orientation from “what should I post” to “what does this person need to hear.”

The Daily Practice (Per Piece of Content)

Step 4: State Check Before Creating

Before writing, recording, or designing anything, pause. Notice your current state. Ask: Am I creating from service or from scarcity?

If the honest answer is scarcity — from “I need this to work,” “I need clients,” “I need revenue” — pause before creating. A five-minute walk, a brief grounding practice, reviewing your evidence file (Step 2). Something that moves you from the anxious state to the grounded one.

Why the inner layer matters for results is not abstract: the scarcity state produces a different product than the service state. The difference is felt by readers before they can name it.

Step 5: Serve First, Offer Second

When drafting any piece of content, complete the service portion — the actual useful thing you’re sharing — before adding any mention of your offer. Let the content stand on its own as something genuinely useful.

Then, from a grounded place, ask: does it make sense to mention how I can help further here? If yes, include it. If the piece is complete without it, leave it complete.

This sequence ensures the content is oriented toward the reader’s experience before your business interests appear.

Step 6: The Conviction Check Before Publishing

Before publishing or sharing any piece of content, read it once with a single question: Would I be comfortable if my most ideal client — the person I’d most love to work with — read this as the first thing they ever encountered from me?

If yes, publish. If there’s something that doesn’t pass that check — something performative, something hollow, something that doesn’t actually reflect what you know and care about — revise that part.

This isn’t perfectionism. It’s integrity. The distinction is important: perfectionism delays indefinitely. The conviction check finds the specific thing that needs adjustment and adjusts it.

The GPS+I Cycle for Marketing

Layer the GPS+I cycle on top of this weekly and daily practice. Once per month:

Goal: Define one specific, concrete magnetic marketing goal for the month. Not “grow my audience.” Something like: “Create and share content from a genuine service orientation five times this week.”

Problem: At the end of the first week, note honestly what got in the way. Not what should have gotten in the way — what actually did. The specific moment, the specific thought, the specific choice.

Solutions: Choose one adjustment for week two based on what you observed.

Integration: At the end of the month, note what has actually shifted in how the practice feels. This is the integration check — not “did I do all the steps” but “has anything in my relationship to marketing actually changed?”

This monthly reflection keeps the practice from becoming mechanical. Magnetic marketing isn’t a set of actions. It’s an orientation that deepens with attention.
